Douglas Allen Whetstine
'Doug'
Mr. Whetstine, 53, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 27, 2006 at home. Doug graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1971 and was self-employed as a plumbing contractor, providing service to thousands of loyal customers in Charlotte for almost 30 years.
Doug was preceded in death by his father and mother, Olin and Frances Whetstine. He is survived by his brother, Don and sisters, Sandra and Linda, and their spouses, and his 17 year old cat, Willie. In addition, he leaves behind a community of friends and neighbors, too many to count, all of whom loved him dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Good Shepard United Methodist Church, 13110 Moss Road, Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Shepard United Methodist Church, or The Humane Society, in Doug's name.
National Cremation Service is entrusted with arrangements.
